A New Blog by Eddie Gibbs and Kurt Frederickson from Fuller Seminary
I am sitting here in Pasadena listening to Eddie Gibbs share about the church. He is humorous and instructive. He is 68 years old and a keen interpretor of both his generation and the next generation. He is sharing some of the stuff he plans to share at a conference in Vancouver in a few weeks, which is a conversation between the Emerging Church and the Missional Church.
My friend Kurt Fredrickson is the Director of the DMin program at Fuller Seminary and gave us a motivating and meaningful presentation yesterday on the missional church.
I deeply appreciate both of these men, their life and their understanding, which is why I am really excited to announce to you that both Eddie Gibbs and Kurt Fredrickson are doing a new blog entitled The Church Then and Now. It would have been called ChurchNext, but as Eddie said, some guy in Oregon had already attained the web address.
One of the goals of they have for their new blog is to re-establish the connection of ecclesiolgy and missiology.

JR – are you going through the 2-week session for the MAGL? If you are, man, I’m jealous… That’s a powerful couple of weeks. Enjoy, bro!

Stew,
Yeah man, you guessed it. It sounds like you experienced those two weeks. Are you going through the program with Todd Watkins? Man, this first week, hearing everyone’s story is just incredible.
JR – yes, I’m going through with Todd. We’re actually in the same small group right now and going through the “Contemporary Culture in Missiological Perspective” Course together.
Hearing and experiencing everyone’s stories in our cohort was one of the most powerful things I’ve ever experienced. It is incredible…
I’ve got the Rowan Williams quote on the mission of God written down in my notes as well…
I wish I could be there with you!
