Michael Frost on Being Missional Church – YouTube

Recently I have had a chance to hang out with Alan Hirsch, and I just finished his book The Forgotten Ways. It was both refreshing and challenging to read. I hope to blog on it soon, as well as post an interview that I did with Alan this past week. The first book Alan wrote, he wrote with Michael Frost. This is the first video of Michael Frost that I have seen. There well known book is entitled The Shaping of Things to Come. If you want to learn about the missional church, Frost is a person to listen to. This is an encouraging video. I remember seeing this on a blog, but I can’t remember where. I just book marked it on my YouTube favorites.

Life-changing. Embarrassingly, I’m excellent at putting labels on people. For example, “emergent church types.”
May God keep what Michael Frost shared via this video fresh in my heart and mind that I’d be able to more clearly see people as He sees them….and not be so quick to write people off because of the way I’ve pre judged them…that I’d learn to walk more closely in His ways…not my own.

The story he tells of meeting the boy on the streets has especially stuck in my mind.
(Frost tells that when there’s about 12 min. left at the end of the video)

SO glad to see you be infected with Hirsch/Frost, as you know, I love these guys and have been getting to know Alan for awhile. I consider him a contemporary mentor par excellance!

This is staggering stuff.

…esp. hard-hitting for someone who’s tribe is The Salvation Army.

This is an awesome resource mate -= thanks!
we are currently on holiday in a village so nowhere near a bookshop…so this video has helped us here show people who are asking about missional life but cant get ‘Shaping’ etc!

All we need now is to get some of your thoughts on youtube! i’d love to see you preach mate (have heard the teachings from kairos) and to see you speak on your canvas groups & explain more on how you see the roles of ‘dream awakener’ etc in your community.
Would also love any JR thoughts there on being missional!!

not that you are busy enough already LOL

I’m glad the video was helpful for you. And as far as me on youtube,I think I will get there sometime this year. We will see.

As far as giving thoughts on being a Dream Awakener, that is a good idea. I could do that for each of the equippers.

You pray about this, and I will see how the Lord directs.

Thanks for your encouragement in this, and man am I hoping to get over to Noosa someday. That seems like a sweet spot for surfing. I can sense it just from your writing.
