In this series of posts, I am sharing some short thoughts from each chapter of Dallas Willard’s book The Great Omission and then some brief personal reflections.

Chapter Seven: Spiritual Formation in Christ
This quote stuck out to me today, “Spiritual formation in Christ is accomplished, and the Great Commission fulfilled, as the regenerate soul makes its highest intent to live in the commandments of Christ and accordingly make realistic plans to realize this intent by an adequate course of the spiritual disciplines.”

Personal Reflection
Spiritual Formation is not something we will find time to do, we must make plans to engage the spiritual disciplines. We must engage in these individually, and in my opinion communally. i am seeking to encourage each of our mid-sized groups to develop a community rule of life for the sake of transformation.

One Response to Discipleship Part VIII

You have just hit my pet peeve…”not something we will find time to do”…I think perhaps being single and setting my heart like flint might give me an edge over my mostly married friends but really it’s about life choices…single or married, Jesus needs to be my all & all…from Him I will have the strength & wisdom to love others consistently…I am curious how the “to develop a community rule of life for the sake of transformation.” went with the mid-sized groups…doing stuff as a team can help I’m sure
