Choice Blog Entires – Mid-sized Communities, Stages of Faith and Thinking Well
There is a lot of rich writing going on in the blogosphere, and it’s been too long since I have posted my choice blog entries entry where I focus on three excellent reads I want to tune you into. I hope to make this a weekly post again. Here are the three entries you should check out this week:
Why I Believe in Mid-Sized Communities
Ben Sternke just finished an excellent series on the transforming power of mid-sized communities. I’ve been a big fan of mid-sized communities since the 90′s, because they seem to meet a social need that is not met in a large celebration or a small group of 10 to 12 people. We call our mid-sized communities Canvas Groups. Check out his series, you won’t be disappointed.
Stages of Faith
John Chandler is always writing some great stuff. The entry I noticed this week was the one on Stages of Faith. I have the book The Critical Journey and found that this book has been extremely helpful for seasoned Christians. Check out John’s entry and learn about how these stages have figured in his journey.
Thoughts on Thinking Well
J.R. Briggs gives some great thoughts on what does it mean to live a thoughtful, intentional life? Go look at his list and see if you have anything that you would add to the list.

Thanks for the kind words, JR.
[...] Woodward summarizes some other great blog entries at Dream Awakener in his post Choice Blog Entries. Not much visual imagery but still a great [...]
Ben,
Good series my friend.
Looking forward to checking out the series on mid-size communities, but LOVE the stages of faith post and diagram. Makes a lot of sense and gives me some good stuff to think about. Wasn’t a huge fan of The Emotionally Healthy Church, but that makes me wanna check out Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. How does The Critical Journey weigh into that mix and that topic? Are you familiar enough with the other one to say?
Nevermind. Just looked back and realized that came from The Critical Journey to begin with. Maybe I’ll just check that out.
