Title: Drilling to the Bedrock: Discipleship and the Father Heart of God

Talk in a Sentence: Above all else, discipleship must be rooted and grounded in shepherding people to know an abide in the Father heart of God.

Talk in a Paragraph: Despite wrestling towards the next big thing and grasping for great innovations in discipleship, we also know there is “nothing new under the sun.” Ultimately, all discipleship must be rooted back into the bedrock of Jesus’ ministry, which was a deep trust and abiding knowledge of the Father’s heart. The question then becomes…how? How are people discipled to this transforming knowledge of the Father’s love?

Brandon Cook – is the pastor of Long Beach Christian Fellowship.  A native Alabamian, he wandered far and wide before studying at Wheaton, Jerusalem University College in Israel and Brandeis University. Later he earned a Master of Studies in Ancient Hellenistic Philosophy from Oxford University in England.  On a Friday night, he can be found enjoying a date with his lovely wife Becca, or perhaps watching The Office (or Gilmore Girls if Becca has had her way), reading a Father Brown mystery, or writing.
