Attitude Check – Part II
Check out the introduction to the series first. So why should we regularly check our attitude?
1. My attitude determines how much I will enjoy life. When we abide in Christ and He abides in us, we will bear much fruit. In other words, we will experience the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the joy, the peace and the love that we can experience in our life no matter what circumstances we face in life. As Christ follower, we ought to be known for our joy.
There is a famous story about a grandpa and a grandma who visited their grandchildren. Each afternoon the Grandpa would lie down for a nap. One day, as a practical joke, the kids decided to put Limburger cheese in his moustache. And if you ever smelt that stuff you know how much it stinks. So Grandpa woke up screaming “Why does this room stink so much?” Then he walked into the kitchen. He wasn’t there long until he decided that the kitchen smelled too, so he walked outdoors for a breath of fresh air. Much to his surprise, the open air brought no relief, and he said, “The whole world stinks!”
How true that is to life! When we carry “Limburger cheese” in our attitudes, the whole world smells bad, because my attitude determines how much I will enjoy life.
