Father,

The God of yesterday, today and forever,
Thank you for the many gifts you gave us in 2011,
for your presence in the tough times and your grace in the good.
You showed your faithfulness to us, even when we were unfaithful to you.

In this coming year, teach us to laugh more, love more and care more.
Help us to discern your voice in the thunder and the whisper.
Help us to live out our calling with a sense of faith, hope and love.

Let us to live in your love, so we might love others more.
Let us to live in your joy, so that we might bring more smiles to those around us.
Let us live in your hope, so that we might help others believe in your goodness.
Let us live in your promises, so that we might take the risks to follow you, even when it is difficult.

Bless us so that we might be a blessing to many.
Thank you for another new year, and for the gift of each new day.
Surprise us, wow us, and woo us to you.
Make us more like your Son, so that we might be tangible witnesses of your coming kingdom.
