The Good News of the Kingdom – Overview
I’ve just been reading through a book entitled The Good News of the Kingdom: Mission Theology for the Third Millennium. I’ve enjoyed a number of the chapters in the book. In the next couple of entries I wanted to share a little of what I learned, but first for a quick overview.
In a tribute to missiologist Arthur Glasser, a “Who’s Who of mission scholars and practioners bring their insights from lifetimes of study and service” (ix) and give their reflections on the theology of mission. After introducing the ministry of Arthur Glasser, the book highlights different theological issues related to mission: Biblical Foundations, Theological Reflections, Ecumenical Relationships, Evangelical Concerns, Missiological Issues and Contextual considerations. Then Van Engen, the chief editor, brings the book to a conclusion
