Ecclesia Gathering in Hollywood -The Integrated Journey

For those of you in the LA area, I wanted to let you know about a gathering that is taking place this next week. It is hosted by the Ecclesia Network and open for pastors, staff and ministry leaders. Here are some of the details.

THEME: The Integrated Journey (Upward, Inward, Outward)
This will be a time to connect with other pastors, staff and leaders to have some meaningful conversations with one another about our ministry journeys – the upward, inward and outward elements. Some of our time will be focused and guided by those who are specialists, other parts will be more experiential and conversational. Some of the time will be spent in groups of four or five where you will have conversation around the table (unique restaurants in LA) and/or interesting places, like the Griffith Park Observatory.

Wil Hernandez regularly regularly teaches on the spirituality of Henri Nouwen at Fuller Theological Seminary, Haggard Graduate School of Theology (Azusa Pacific University) and at the Center for Religion and Spirituality (Loyola Marymount University). Wil is the author of Henri Nouwen: A Spirituality of Imperfection (Paulist Press, 2006) and Henri Nouwen and Soul Care: A Ministry of Integration (Paulist Press, 2008) Wil’s Ph.D. dissertation work focused upon the study of Nouwen’s counterintuitive and countercultural brand of spirituality.

Keith Matthews is Chair of the Ministry Department and Professor of Spiritual Formation and Contemporary Culture at Azusa Pacific University’s Graduate School of Theology. He is a long time pastoral practitioner in many differing contexts, serving churches from coast to coast. Keith has been a Church Planter, an Associate Pastor, Executive Pastor and Lead Pastor in small, medium and large church settings. Now serving as a teacher to pastors, Keith’s expertise is in Ministry Leadership and Spiritual Formation, along with Contemporary Culture/Emergent Ministry Issues. He is an Adjunct Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary teaching with Dr. Dallas Willard and Dr. Todd Hunter in Fuller’s Doctor of Ministry Program. He has written articles for Sojourners Magazine and Leadership Journal, as well as designed and co-authored Dallas Willard’s Study Guide to The Divine Conspiracy. He is an ordained pastor, church consultant, retreat speaker, and conference speaker for Renovare Inc. Keith is married to Christa and has three children, Cori, Kyle and Kate, and now resides in Southern California.
